Be sure to visit the Quilt & Craft Shop following your visit in the Museum. Here you will see and enjoy the talents of Cape Breton artisans as you view the assortment of works. The shop is managed by the artisans who are there to explain how their items are made. All works in the shop are “Made in Cape Breton” and are for your purchase.

The Shop officially opened in August 2009 and continues to please the many tourists who when seeing the array of quilts say “now I feel that I am home”. The shop is filled with traditional hand quilted quilts and clan tartan woven throws -- all in various sizes. You can take part in learning to quilt and weave as demonstrations take place daily. Sit and relax in comfort as you view the dark country colours with the bright modern colours of today’s quilts and wall hangings.

Enjoy the homey setting of beautiful decorative cushions and the many small items of hats, mitts, bags, aprons, jewelry and baby dresses -- all available in the Quilt & Craft Shop.
